Self-Reporting Research

Yesterday, I read an article at the Seed magazine website by Dave Munger that questioned the scientific research method of surveying people and having a scientific result from the study/surveying. The article explains that during the survey, humans are prone to different psychological and mental aspects that could effect the answers that come about. The article also includes the point of what if self-reporting is the only option and "is better than nothing." More information is included on the new point made in the article. The article then closes with the notion that scientists "need to know the limitations of self-reporting as they conduct their research."
