Knowledge/Intellect In Nature

The relationship between nature and humans in today's society is incompatible and out of touch. As a result of this drifted relationship, environmental problems occur because of the strain and heavy load put on it by human beings but also because of the knowledge not obtained about the inner balance and workings of nature and of the relationship between humans and nature. If knowledge about the balance and inner workings of nature were known and applied then the many environmental problems could be solved. If the relationship between nature and humans was to be restored than the inner knowledge about the inner workings of nature could be obtained to find the answers to many of the environmental crises facing humanity today. Many discoveries involving environmental crises are effective in solving it today but in my opinion only look at the outer workings of nature and not the impact and imbalance between humans and nature. This post is only an opinionated outlook on how knowledge and/or intellect impacts/helps nature.

  1. I agree with your assessment of the current state of incompatibility between nature and humankind. However, I disagree in the cause being the lack of knowledge. I believe that the knowledge necessary to keep nature and humankind in accord is known, but is hidden, obscured, non-disclosed, or simply ignored. At every turn where profit conflicts with nature and humankind, the path to profit is more likely than not to be taken, to the detriment of nature an humankind.

Case in point; the Gulf oil disaster. After the Exxon Valdez disaster, it would seem that prudence would have dictated that we not mix oil and water until we had foolproof measures in place for handling of oil over open waters. Yet, we drill in open oceans without those measures. Why? Simply for the sake of profit. BP (and others) had knowledge that they did not have the the ability to handle such an occurrence, but driven by profit, they ignored nature and humankind and drilled anyway.
