Collider: The Search for the World's Smallest Particles by Paul Halpern

Collider: The Search for the World's Smallest Particles by Paul Halpern is a book that accounts and details particle physics, its discoveries, and the production of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This book is an account that is both intriguing and an easy read. It is a very informative read. I would recommend this book to anyone who is heavily interested in particle physics. Public Fear Towards Science

Of the few barriers that science contains the one that is probably the most debilitating is the public's generalized fear and perceptions towards science. As an individual who is heavily interested and enthralled in the sciences, I fail to understand the public's disdain and opposition towards science and other intellectual entities. In my opinion science is one of the intellectual entities that provides a wealth of information on the inner and outer workings of nature, space, and several naturally occurring groups and their corresponding constituents. I think the reason for the public's disdain towards science occurs because of the many societal conflicts and the changing and progressing landscapes of science and its correlating disciplines.
